In the never ending quest to further develop the enviable list of medical services we offer our community, specialist anaesthetist Dr Sandeep Kusre and specialist nephrologist and general medicine physician Dr Muhammad Javaid are the latest we’ve convinced that South West Healthcare is the best place to be.

Dr Kusre’s appointment will allow anaesthetics departmental director Dr James Muir to further develop our anaesthetic services while Dr Javaid’s appointment will do the very same for our renal services, in collaboration with renal services clinical lead Dr Nicholas Barraclough.

SWH medical services interim executive director Dr Grace Sousa says these two appointments, and the appointments earlier this year of specialist general medicine physician Dr Miththinda Kankanamage and specialist paediatrician Dr Phillip Maude, ensure fresh innovations in patient-centred service development and provision.

In December, specialist geriatrician and general medicine physician Dr Monowar Hossain will also join us to provide expanded inpatient and public outpatient geriatric services in his clinic rooms, also onsite here at SWH.

‘I’m very proud of the high calibre medical specialists who work with us; particularly the fact that they live within our communities and really care about the experience and outcomes delivered,’ says CEO Craig Fraser, adding, ‘South West Healthcare provides a vast array of specialties that are unique to a region of our size and this ensures our communities have access to specialist care closer to home.’

Mr Fraser says Miththinda, Phillip, Sandeep and Muhammad will add a lot of experience to further care for everyone who lives in our part of the world and encourages staff, volunteers and everyone in the community to welcome them.
