Construction of the first stage of Warrnambool Base Hospital Redevelopment is making great progress, with the concrete slab now poured at the Cooper Street located Regional Logistic Distribution Centre (RLDC) this week. This is a significant milestone for this phase of the project and comes after construction was commenced in mid-January.

The RLDC project will result in the relocation of South West Healthcare Linen, Supply and Warehousing services from the existing hospital site to the new RLDC, creating space for the brand new 5 level clinical tower to build on the Warrnambool Base Hospital (WBH) site.

The RLDC will be a brand new, fully equipped and purpose built linen service and a fully automated centralised warehouse supporting health services across our region in South West Victoria and providing clean linen and health service supplies to public health services in the region.

Replacement of the existing, outdated facility will provide a brand new, safe, modern and contemporary work environment for the South West Healthcare Linen Services and Supply staff members.

The next two (2) weeks of the RLDC project will see:

  • All concrete slabs for building will be completed
  • Continue excavations and site preparation works for all services outside of building envelope.
  • Delivery and install of pre-cast panels (to form the walls of the building) will commence from 20th March 2023.
