We are pleased that the Health Minister the Hon Mary-Anne Thomas has today announced the appointment of Hansen Yuncken Pty Ltd as the Early Works main contract for South West Healthcare’s Warrnambool Base Hospital Redevelopment.
Hansen Yuncken are in the final stages of delivering South West Healthcare’s Regional Logistics Distribution Centre (RLDC) on Cooper Street in Warrnambool’s industrial precinct which formed the Enabling Works phase of the $384.2M project, expected to be complete in 2027.
The Early Works phase is a crucial component of the health precinct overhaul, involving substantial preparation works to facilitate the overall enhancement of South West Healthcare’s Warrnambool Campus. The Early Works phase, commencing in the coming weeks will see various construction activities undertaken that will enable the rear of the site to be cleared and the construction of the tower to occur.
Hansen Yuncken, with the support of South West Healthcare and Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) will commence refurbishment works to existing outdated spaces, aiming to deliver a brand-new hospital kitchen, fully equipped with modern facilities and additional administrative spaces to permanently house various South West Healthcare services.
