Coronavirus. A new month. A new update.

It’s exactly 14 weeks TODAY since our local communities have recorded a positive coronavirus case.

A HUGE thank you to everyone doing the right things to help keep us in this enviable position.

This week we’ve screened another 350 people, taking our total screenings to 4,938:

  • 2,651 > number of SYMPTOMATIC patients screened at our Warrnambool Respiratory Assessment Clinic.
  • 401 > number of SYMPTOMATIC patients screened at our Warrnambool emergency department (since May 1).
  • 10 > number of SYMPTOMATIC patients screened at our Camperdown Hospital.
  • 315 > number of INPATIENTS screened in our Warrnambool Base Hospital, Camperdown Hospital/Merindah Lodge.
  • 1,396 > number of ASYMPTOMATIC patients screened at our Warrnambool Respiratory Assessment Clinic.
  • 175 > number of ASYMPTOMATIC patients screened onsite at our Camperdown Hospital during community and staff screening clinics. (Please note: We aren’t running any of these clinics at this moment.)

As of yesterday, Victoria has now recorded 2,303 coronavirus cases. Of July 2’s 77 new ones, 13 are linked to outbreaks, 37 were identified through routine testing, and 27 remain under investigation. No new cases had been detected in returned travellers in hotel quarantine.

Other stats that might interest you:

  • 332 > cases acquired in Victoria where the source of infection is unknown.
  • 20 > people currently in Victorian hospitals, including four patients in intensive care.
  • 20 > people who’ve tragically lost their lives to coronavirus.
  • 253 > people who’ve tested positive in regional Victoria (of Victoria’s total 2,303 confirmed cases).

THE KEY MESSAGES FOR ALL OF US

> If you feel unwell with any symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, you should stay home and organise to get tested. If you have any fever, chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, and loss of sense of smell or taste – stay home. Please don’t go in to work and don’t visit friends and family.
