Austin 7 Club helps launch our Rapid Infuser Appeal

Warrnambool members of the Austin Seven Club have joined us to co-launch our first medical equipment public appeal since the pandemic began. As of now, we’re excitedly fundraising for a $43,800 rapid infuser for our Warrnambool Base Hospital operating theatres.

This piece of medical equipment helps save the lives of trauma patients who have just minutes to live by rapidly delivering high volumes of warmed blood and fluids to replace blood lost from the trauma, enabling our clinicians to do their best work. This lifesaving intervention is commonly used for the likes of road and farm accidents and childbirth emergencies.

It’s the Austin Seven’s centenary year here in Oz and its 100th celebrations, in the form of a national rally,  are to be held in Warrnambool from April 9–14. We’ve been blessed with having been named its charity of choice to receive the proceeds from its April 12 Show and Shine event at the Fletcher Jones Gardens. Set to start at 12.30pm, a gold coin donation will get you up close and personal with more than 130 of these glorious 1920s–1930s vehicles. For another small donation you can sit in one and have you photo taken.

The week-long event is being organised by the Austin Seven National Rally Committee on behalf of the Austin Seven Club Inc Victoria. Warrnambool’s Robert Baudinette, pictured here with our operating theatres associate unit manager Chris Toone, is the committee’s treasurer.

If you’d like to support this appeal by either holding a fundraising event, as the Austin Seven Club is, or by making a tax-deductible donation please contact appeal manager Suzan Morey on 03 5564 4100 or smorey@swh.net.au
