This afternoon ACE Radio, ABC Radio and The Standard took the opportunity to be brought up to speed on Coronavirus disease.

Journalists met with our SWH CEO Craig Fraser (from left), Infection Prevention Coordinator Jenny Lukeis and Director of Infection, Prevention & Control Dr Mark Page.

Every day now there’s new developments on the Coronavirus front and all of us are committed to working together to get out (to you) accurate information. This is one of the great ways people in the bush work (and pull) together in times of need.

Here at South West Healthcare we want to assure you that we’re fully equipped and well prepared to respond to any respiratory infectious disease (including coronavirus) that a patient may have, or be suspected of having. And we cannot promote enough, the terrific information being provided by the Department of Health & Human Services website: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

Also please remember:

  • The Department of Health & Human Services Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) hotline number is: 1800 675 398.
  • BEFORE VISITING ANY emergency department, urgent care centre or your GP please CALL AHEAD to let them know about your recent travel and symptoms.
    • Remember to wash your hands regularly with soap and water, cough and sneeze into your bent elbow or into a tissue you then properly and immediately dispose of in a lidded bin. And if you feel sick, please avoid contact with others.
