Pedestrian footpath impacts: Ryot Street, Warrnambool

  • Redevelopment
Friday, 17 Jan 2025

Construction activity will increase at Southwest Healthcare’s Warrnambool Campus as part of the Warrnambool Base Hospital redevelopment project effective Friday 17 January 2025.

What’s happening:

  • In-ground service investigation and connection works will begin on Ryot Street, continuing until May 2025
  • To support these works, the footpath between the SWH Warrnambool Paediatricians Clinic and the SWH Emergency Department will be closed from Wednesday 22 January 2025

Access Information:

  • Access to SWH Paediatric Clinic on Ryot Street is not impacted by these works and a pathway will remain open for ease of entry with stroller or pram.
  • To safely access the Emergency Department and SWH Main Entrance from the north end of Ryot Street, please use the footpath on the opposite side of the road to the work zone (multi-deck car park & South West Regional Cancer Centre side)
  • Signage will be in place to guide pedestrians during the construction period
  • Construction safety fencing has been installed to contain the work-zone

Additional Information:

An increase of general construction noise and machinery movement is expected in the health precinct during this critical works period although impacts to road travel times and facility access is minimal.

We thank you for your ongoing patience while we move forward to build bigger and better health care in the South West region.
