The Neil Porter Legacy (NPL) is a non-profit dedicated to helping students find the right career fit for them – with support through careers days and scholarship programs in the south-west.
The NPL recognises schools, businesses and individuals who go above and beyond to support young people and strengthen pathways across the region at their recent awards.
South West Healthcare (SWH) was recognised as Business of the Year for our work supporting young people with an interest pursuing a career in healthcare. SWH hosted 12 different school groups over a 12 month period and tailored every session to suit the curriculum content and goals of each class. Our SWH team also hosted interactive stalls at the South West Careers Expo and the Koorie Careers and Aspirations Day, which were standout favourites for the students attending.
We have loved working with the Neil Porter Legacy and are excited about the level of interest and passion local students have for careers in healthcare. As we look to expand our hospital and services through our redeveloped Warrnambool Base, it is more important than ever to develop the pool of talent that exists in our own backyard.
