Speech Pathology

Speech pathologists work with people of all ages who have communication or swallowing difficulties. Speech Pathologists assess and treat people with a range of difficulties. These may include problems with speech, voice, using and understanding language, fluency, reading, writing and swallowing (dysphagia).

How to access this service

If you need an assessment while you are in hospital, the healthcare professionals looking after you will make a referral to our team. If you are worried about your communication or swallowing, you can ask to be referred to us.

To access our community-based services, please contact our Access & Intake Team. You do not need a referral from a GP to see a Speech Pathologist. If you are over the age of 65, a referral via My Aged Care is needed.
