We offer a range of activities and excursions that aim to improve health and wellbeing and are tailored to the interests of our members. Our groups are a great way for older people to share their wealth of knowledge and life experiences in a friendly, warm and welcoming environment.
We also provide support and respite for the carers of people attending the group.
We value the input and feedback of members and provide lots of opportunity for members to contribute to the program design.
Our emphasis is to provide enjoyment and fun!
Transport to and from your home to the centre is available on request.
Morning tea and lunch provided.
To join one of our groups simply see the receptionist and they will make an appointment with the nurse and social support group coordinator.
When you meet the team a referral will be made for you on the My Aged Care website. The team will then ask you some questions and your health and what you would like to do in the group.
For further information about the groups or eligibility criteria please contact your local centre.
The cost to attend the Centre is $10.00 per day which includes transport to and from your home, within the town boundary, and a healthy two course lunch.
Volunteers are an integral component of the program offered at our Social Support Groups, whether it is driving the bus or helping out with duties at the Centre.
Volunteer training and updates are provided so, if you are considering volunteering at one of our Social Support Groups, please make enquiries to the Centre Coordinator.
