Orthopaedics is the medical specialty that focuses on injuries and diseases of your body’s musculoskeletal system. This complex system includes your bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves, which allow you to move, work, and be active.
The fracture clinic is a public outpatient service with no out of pocket cost for consultations.
This clinic cares for patients with newly acquired fractures and other injuries of your bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments and soft tissues.
If you have presented to the Emergency Department with an orthopaedic injury, you will be referred to the Fracture Clinic for further review. Please wait for our staff to contact you for an appointment.
If your injury was diagnosed by your regular GP, your GP needs to phone the hospital and ask to speak to the on-call Orthopaedics Registrar.
Please bring your Medicare card.
Please bring any old x-rays and other documentation of previous orthopaedic care by other clinicians.
