We can say, with certainty, they know a thing or two about the event. This year will be the 36th time they’ve completed it.
For the past 35 years (18,200 kilometres and counting) the fundraising component of this team’s ride has focused on medical equipment for local children. 2025 is no different. They’ll be helping us close the gap on the few thousand we still need for an $11,686 new nitrous analgesic unit for our emergency department. This equipment helps ease the anxiety of some kids facing minor medical procedures. You probably know of this mild sedative as Happy Gas. Sometimes, using it can even spare a child having to be sent to our operating theatres for a full anaesthetic. (And sometimes we even use it for anxious adults.)
Lester’s on 0448 362 865 if you’d like to join the fun.
