Emotional Wellbeing

Having a baby is a time of significant change. South West Healthcare is committed to supporting your emotional wellbeing as you prepare for this. Unique to some healthcare services you will be offered a wellbeing appointment at around 18 weeks’ gestation that includes a free and confidential emotional and mental health screening check.

South West Healthcare currently offers access to the iCOPE digital screening tool (similar to a survey) which can be completed on your own smart device or on an iPad that can be supplied to you. The results of this screening and any recommendations arising from the screening will be discussed with you and help us provide you with best care.

If you or your care provider are concerned about any needs that you may have during your pregnancy and beyond, a referral to one of our support programs may be recommended. Emotional support is also available for non-birthing parents / partners.

Please click on the links below to find out more about these programs which aim to support your emotional wellbeing during pregnancy and beyond. Support is also available in the instance of pregnancy loss for both you and your partner.

We value feedback from patients, consumers, family members and carers.
