We offer numerous activities for you to participate in and welcome any suggestions for entertainment. Daily activities include craft, music, games, reading, massage and exercise. Community outings, bus trips and other social group outings are also regularly offered. Activities are organised by our Activities Coordinator and can involve the support of volunteers.
Community rooms
There are a number of community rooms available to book for celebrations with residents. All bookings can be made by contacting front reception. Residents are welcome to use the communal kitchen to prepare snacks, meals etc.

There are specific craft rooms on each floor with outside access

Quiet rooms
There are 5 dedicated quiet rooms situated throughout the facility, giving opportunity for quiet visits away from Resident’s own bedrooms.

Landscaped gardens with wide easy to navigate paths
The Seniors Exercise Park features a range of exercise stations to help improve balance, strength, functional movement, joint range of motion and mobility. We provide lifestyle equipment for special needs.
Tuk Tuk allow all residents to be driven around the garden area
BBQ facilities
BBQ for family and friend use. Families and friends are able to book the BBQ through Aged Care reception, if you wish to come and cook a meal with your loved one. We can provide all utensils, crockery etc. you just need to provide the food and clean up after use.
Sugarloaf Cafe
Sugarloaf Cafe is on site and welcomes residents, family members, South West Healthcare staff and the general public. Sugarloaf Cafe have meal, snack and drink options and is open Monday – Friday.
Your family, friends and visitors are welcome to book one of our commuity spaces to share celebrations with you.
Doctor / General Practitioner
A General Practitioner (GP) visits Leura Aged Care once a week. The GP will visit you regularly and more often should your health care needs change.
Pharmacy
The local Pharmacy supplies all mediations. Accounts are established for each resident on admission. Staff need to be informed of any over-the-counter medications, gels, vitamins or other natural therapies. There is an onsite pharmacist to help with your medication needs.
Medication
A qualified staff member will administer your medications to you unless your doctor specifies that you are able to self-administer safely. Residents will be asked on admission whether they wish to self-medicate. This can be arranged following a medical assessment.

Complementary Therapies
Leura Aged Care supports your right to access complementary therapies under the direction of a qualified practitioner and with the knowledge of staff.
Support for Residents with memory loss and other similar problems
Leura Aged Care staff can provide individual attention and support for cognitive impairment (for example, dementia and other behavioural disorders). This would include individual therapy activities and specific programs designed and carried out to prevent or manage a condition or behaviour and enhance quality of life.
Hairdresser
Leura Aged Care has a hairdressing salon serviced by a visiting hairdresser and beauty therapist. Times are available by appointment in the Salon. Otherwise, arrangements can be made for you to visit the hairdresser of your choice.
Laundry Services
You are encouraged to bring in clothes that can be laundered in a commercial wash cycle and clothes dryer. Clothes that are labelled not for tumble drying are unsuitable for general laundering. You can choose to arrange for laundering of your own clothing or bedding and arrangements can be made for dry cleaning at your expense.
Bed linen and blankets are provided and laundered regularly.
Library Services
A small number of books and magazines are available. Audiobooks can be arranged and you can be transported to the town library for access to further resources. Transport can be arranged with the lifestyle team or by someone you know.
Religious Services
We encourage you to maintain your spiritual wellbeing. Regular services for Residents are provided in the Consumer Lounge. Please continue to practice your religious faith your local church as you desire.

Staff can assist with making these appointments or appointments can be made directly with the required service by you or your representative.
Arrangements for appointments and transport to specialist services in Warrnambool or other centres such as Melbourne, can be made. However, you are responsible for
transport and staff costs if your representatives are unable to transport you. The cost of all specialist services, as well as specialist investigations, are the responsibility of the consumer.
