$92,111 raised in less than eight weeks – proving yet again that we live, work and play in the most generous, compassionate and kind part of the world. Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause.
The Kiwanis’ gift is the result of its final COINS FOR CANCER distribution. Since commencing this initiative in 2011 it’s raised a staggering $151,630 for local cancer-specific needs. Its final distribution also included a $4,000 donation to the South West Regional Cancer Centre’s Peter’s Project Community Support Centre.

For the past 14 years, both Janice and Ann travelled regularly throughout the region to exchange (and bank) full COINS FOR CANCER collection tins for empty ones. An amazing commitment to volunteering and community.
BTW this is the second donation Warrnambool Kiwanis members have made to us in the past eight weeks. In March, they gave us the $2,666 needed to close an appeal we were running to buy our first-ever Paediatrics Unit point-of-care blood analyser. This $10,394 piece of medical equipment (the size of a small TV remote) will deliver lab quality diagnostic information within minutes, as well as immediately transmit these results to our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to help accelerate clinical decision making.
