Written by scouts aged 10-and-a-half to 15 years old, they’re the result of their scout leaders setting them a daily challenge online (some for fun and some for Scout Badgework requirements) to enable them to stay in touch with each other, stay scouting, stay connected to the community, and stay positive.
This particular challenge was to write to a healthcare worker.
‘This idea seemed to resonate with our scouts. Some of them have family members who are doctors, nurses and ambos,’ says leaders Merlynn Harrison and Gary Golding. ‘To say we’re thinking of all the staff at our local SWH is an understatement! Take care and thank you all for your hard work and service to our community.’
The letters are now on their way to staff in various wards and units.
