‘It’s been an amazing effort over busy days and nights by our dedicated teams of midwives and the new mums and dads have very much appreciated their care and effort,’ says maternity unit manager Janene Facey.
So far this year, 429 babies have been born at our Warrnambool Base Hospital and 12 babies have been born at our Camperdown Hospital. SO much joy.
MATERNITY UNIT VISITOR HOURS FOR PARTNERS REMAIN UNCHANGED: We’ve been receiving lots of phone calls and Facebook inquiries as to whether, here at SWH, we’ve implemented restricted visitor hours (like Melbourne hospitals have done) for the partners of our new mums, and mums-to-be. We have NOT changed our maternity unit visiting hours for partners. (Unlike Melbourne we have no COVID community transmissions.) As usual, partners of our SWH maternity unit patients are welcome to come and go. We’d be thrilled if you’d help spread the word about this.
