‘Involving members of our community in our service structure assists us to improve quality and care, and patient and carer experiences,’ explains SWH Consumer Engagement & Liaison Officer Jill Warne (pictured).
‘Currently, we’re recruiting to a new Consumer and Community Advisory Committee (CACC) which will meet regularly throughout the year to provide direct advice to our SWH Board and Executive and to oversee agreed projects and topics.’
We're after people from all walks of life keen to share their experiences, insights, and time and expertise to help make improvements to all of our services (medical, nursing, mental health, allied health, dental, and primary and community health) throughout the region.
‘People can choose to get involved by making health information easier to understand, looking at feedback through complaints and compliments, helping to find ways to make services better, provide ideas on new buildings or services and share the good practice,’ Jill says.
‘Some people might choose to tell their story to help with training staff, others might want to get involved in our Consumer and Community Advisory Committee. The time and level of commitment is up to you.’
