South West Healthcare (SWH) is committed to offering accessible car parking facilities for the convenience of our patients, carers, visitors and staff (subject to availability).

Camperdown

Camperdown Hospital

  • There is limited car parking available in the hospital grounds, including 3 disability specific options + 2 car parks
  • There are free on-street parking in both Robinson street & York street
  • In Robinson street there is a SWH specific car park with 29 car spaces

Merindah Lodge Aged Care

  • There is one disability specific car park + 4 car parks at Merindah Lodge
  • There are free on-street parking in both Robinson street & York street
  • In Robinson street there is a SWH specific car park with 29 car spaces

Warrnambool

In addition to an abundance of free, on street, time limited (2P) car parking located around the hospital precinct, SWH also have car parking available beneath the hospital in an underground carpark (with entry from Timor Street) A small fee is payable prior to exit from the underground car park and all revenue raised through car parking is used to replace patient equipment within the facility and is also allocated to improving direct patient care and the patient experience.

The underground car park is open seven days a week. Parking fees are displayed at the entrance to the car park (and are outlined in the table below)

To enter the car park, just take a ticket from the ticket machine and wait for the boom gate to open before entering. The maximum height clearance for the car park is 2.7 metres.

Warrnambool Base Hospital car parking options:

  • More than 300 free on-street 2 and 4 hour car parks surrounding the hospital campus. Note: These car parks are managed by Warrnambool City Council. Fines are imposed on drivers caught overstaying and/or parking illegally on nature strips.
  • 90 free car parks in the multi-storey carpark opposite the hospital and the South West Regional Cancer Centre. Access is via Ryot Street.
  • 70 car parks in the hospital underground carpark off Timor Street.

South West Regional Cancer Centre (SWRCC) car parking options:

  • 25 SWRCC-specific free car parks in the two-storey carpark opposite the hospital and SWRCC. Access is via Ryot Street.
  • More than 300 free on-street 2 and 4 hour car parks surrounding the hospital campus. Note: These car parks are the property of Warrnambool City Council. Fines are imposed on drivers caught overstaying and/or parking illegally on nature strips.

Warrnambool Community Health car parking options:

  • More than 300 free on-street 2 and 4 hour car parks surrounding the hospital campus. Note: These car parks are the property of Warrnambool City Council. Fines are imposed on drivers caught overstaying and/or parking illegally on nature strips.
  • 14 free 2 hour off-street car parks opposite the entrance to Warrnambool Community Health. Access is via Koroit Street.
  • Six free disability-specific 2 hour off-street car parks opposite the entrance to Warrnambool Community Health. Access is via Koroit Street.

Disability-specific car parking options:

  • Two free on-street car parks opposite the main entrance of the hospital, on Ryot Street.
  • Two undercover car parks in the underground hospital carpark off Timor Street.
  • Six free off-street car parks opposite the entrance of Warrnambool Community Health, off Koroit Street.

How do I pay?

You will need to pay for your parking before returning to your vehicle. Patients, Carers, Visitors and Staff can pay for parking using the Automated Pay Station which is located directly opposite the lifts on level B1 of the underground car park. Parking rates are as follows as of 1st July 2015*:

All prices include GST Payment at the automated pay station is by cash, Master Card and Visa Card.

Pension & Healthcare Card Holders

To obtain the $2.00 Flat Rate, you must get your entry ticket validated prior to payment by presenting it at the main reception desk located on the Ground Floor, Timor Street building (8am to 6pm M-F)

No Student Concessions are available.

Lost tickets

If you lose your ticket, you will need to pay a full day rate of $8.00

Concessional parking
SWH has made a number of provisions to meet the needs of our patients and their families/carers in need. Patients, carers or relatives attending the hospital on a regular basis or demonstrating financial hardship may be granted a standard hospital discounted flat rate based on the following criteria:-

  • The patient attends the hospital for treatment three or more times per week
  • The patient and up to two designated carers have requested a reduction in the full rate on the grounds of financial disadvantage and it is clear that:·
  • They are experiencing significant additional expenses related to hospitalisation/visits (e.g.: accommodation costs, travel costs)·
  • Prolonged periods of hospitalisation or visiting is required, anticipated to be 10 days or more (inpatients), that will lead to significant additional travel expenses.

Drop off zones at hospital entrances

SWH is committed to ensuring our services are accessible to everyone requiring our assistance and provides several areas on the Warrnambool Base Hospital site where patients and visitors can be “dropped off”. These zones are located outside the Main Entrance to Hospital (Ryot St) & the Front Entrance to The Warrnambool Community Health Centre (Koroit Street) and are subject to the following restrictions:

  • Drop off and pick up is allowed for a maximum of ten (10) minutes

Car parking conditions for vehicles

All vehicles are parked at the owners’ own risk. SWH will not accept liability for any damage to, or loss of property from, any vehicle parked in the car parks or for personal injuries incurred by users of the car parks.

  • All users of the car parking facilities on SWH grounds must ensure they drive safely, considerately and in accordance with the law and all signage displayed on site
  • Park only in designated car parking spaces
  • Obey the rules for parking that are displayed in car parks and at the entrances to car parks
  • Accept that the rules for use of car parks apply to all users and that violations may attract penalties
  • Follow any reasonable directions given by SWH staff
  • Accept responsibility for the security of their vehicle and any possessions left in it while parked on SWH grounds

Disabled and Parents with Prams Parking

SWH has ten (10) designated disabled car park bays located around the hospital precinct with five (5) located on Ryot St (directly outside the main entrance) and another five (5) located just inside the entrance to Warrnambool Community Health (enter from Koroit Street) Vehicles must display a valid Blue Disabled Permit, and must park in designated disabled bays.

There are also two (2) designated disabled bays located in the underground car park

‘Parents with Prams’ parking is available in the same locations as disabled parking.
